FUTSAL

AKKA has futsal teams for men, women, boys and girls, that compete locally, regionally, and nationally in USFF sanctioned leagues and tournaments. Futsalʼs virtues as a game that supports player development has been proven world wide to diversify and improve a playerʼs ability with the ball and movement off of the ball due to the gameʼs demand for speed of thought and control in a tight, fast paced environment where skill, composure, and creativity is highly valued and necessary to play well.

Additionally we run street futsal leagues over the summer where players bring the game back to itʼs roots playing on outdoor basketball courts. For six weeks each summer AKKA brings a festival atmosphere to the courts thatʼs different than almost anything the players or parents have experienced before. The emphasis is on giving the game back to the players, the games are officiated but just to keep order, the parents are encouraged to cheer, and the coaches are encouraged to do the same. The main thing is that we let each night belong to the players and itʼs not uncommon to see some of the AKKA teachers get out and lift the games to another level by playing in with the kids on occasion.
